This years 5 Days for the Homeless campaign is being hosted by the UTM Helping Hands. We are a group of students who are dedicated towards raising awareness for the homeless, orphan, and disadvantaged youth communities in the GTA.
Our goal this year is to raise $2000.00 for ‘The Dam’, a safe haven for youth at risk in Mississauga. We will reach our goal by hosting various fund-raisers throughout the duration of this campaign. Join us in creating a Mississauga where everybody has a place to call home!
Sunday, March 19, 2017: Campaign Kick Off: Participants will enjoy a hot lunch before beginning their week of homelessness. We will make our signs at this time and set up post outside of the Blind Duck Pub!
Monday, March 20, 2017: Day 1: Our focus today will be on Youth at Risk as a general topic. We will provide trivia where you will have the opportunity to win some prizes if you participate.
Tuesday, March 21, 2017: Day 2: Today we will discuss how family violence has the ability to severely impact why a youth lives homelessly. You will have the opportunity to purchase an ice cream Sunday in order to support our participants; we also encourage you to buy an ice cream Sunday for our participants!
Wednesday, March 22, 2017: Day 3: Today’s focus will be on the correlation between mental illness and homelessness. We will have games and trivia available at our information booth where you will be able to donate & participate.

Later in the evening, some of our participants will have the opportunity to speak about their experience at UTM Helping Hands Youth Talks Event.
